Bring home the auspicious beauty of traditional mango leaves with IBHI’s Mango Leaf Festive Toran, thoughtfully designed for modern Indian homes and families living across the world.
Mango leaves have traditionally been placed at entrances during festivals, weddings, poojas and housewarming ceremonies as symbols of prosperity, positivity and new beginnings. This handcrafted fabric toran recreates that timeless tradition in a reusable form that can be displayed throughout the festive season and preserved for years.
Handcrafted on a Kalawa and Mauli Braid
The toran is constructed on a carefully braided base made using sacred Kalawa and Mauli threads. The rich red and yellow tones of the braid add a traditional foundation while securely holding each handcrafted mango leaf in place.
Loops are provided on both corners for easy hanging. Each corner is finished with a decorative cluster of three ghunghroos, adding movement, texture and a subtle traditional detail to the doorway.
Realistic Embroidered Mango Leaves
Each mango leaf is individually created using dark green fabric.
The natural veins of the mango leaf are recreated through detailed embroidery, giving every leaf a more realistic and dimensional appearance. The embroidered surface allows the toran to retain the visual character of fresh mango leaves while remaining reusable and easy to store.
Each leaf is further embellished with:
- One glass bead
- One dull golden fibre bead
- Detailed embroidered leaf veins
- Traditional Indian motifs
The glass beads have a silver-toned finish to create shine. As silver-toned finishes naturally react with air and environmental conditions, the colour may oxidise or become slightly dull over time. This is a natural characteristic of the material and not considered a manufacturing defect.
Two-Sided Reversible Design
The Mango Leaf Festive Toran is designed to be used from both sides, giving you two decorative looks in one product.
Side One: Sacred Indian Symbols
The front side features an assortment of culturally significant motifs associated with auspiciousness, prosperity and spiritual blessings:
- Shree
- Om
- Shubh
- Labh
- Swastik
- Lotus
- Kumkum bindu
- Chandan bindu
These motifs make the toran especially suitable for entrances, pooja rooms, home temples and festive settings.
Side Two: Lotus Motifs
The reverse side features embroidered lotus motifs across the mango leaves.
The lotus represents purity, prosperity and spiritual growth, making this side ideal for Lakshmi Pujan, Diwali, Varalakshmi Vratham, weddings, poojas and elegant festive décor.
Simply reverse the toran whenever you want to change the appearance of your entrance.
