A Rare Celebration of India’s National Bird and National Flower

A peacock in full dance is one of nature’s rarest and most mesmerizing sights. Capturing that exact moment in art is even rarer. At IBHI, we have transformed this magical movement into a three dimensional self standing artefact that celebrates grace, heritage, and craftsmanship.

The IBHI Dancing Peacock is thoughtfully designed as a detachable two part sculpture that brings together intricate design and easy assembly. The peacock body and the dancing feather are separate components that simply clip into each other, allowing the piece to stand beautifully on its own.

Crafted in an elegant copper gold finish, this artefact blends traditional symbolism with contemporary craftsmanship.

The Story Behind the Design

This artwork carries a deeper meaning. The peacock is India’s national bird, while the lotus is the national flower of India.

Instead of the traditional peacock feather eye, IBHI has created a lotus outline within the feather design, symbolically bringing these two national icons together in a single artistic expression.

The result is a piece that represents beauty, culture, and national pride through thoughtful design.

Intricate Craftsmanship

The artefact is made using precision cut MDF, allowing delicate pattern work and dimensional detailing.

The dancing feather features elegant pattern cutting and handcrafted embellishments, including:

  • White rhinestones

  • Amber stones

  • Mother of pearl tone beads

The peacock body is equally detailed with three dimensional embellishments that complement the feather design. The eye of the peacock is highlighted with a striking amber rhinestone, adding depth and character to the sculpture.

In 2021, Pooja Dave was 22 years old when she noticed something most people walk past without a second thought. India’s handicraft industry had skilled hands, beautiful work and genuine value, but very little structure.

She decided to change that through a business. IBHI brought together India’s regional textile traditions like Banarasi, Patola and Silk with the handcraft skills of women who had never had a formal livelihood.

Today, 355 women across Kadi, Kalyanpura and Sanand work with IBHI. They are skilled artisans with a craft, a workplace and an income.

Every IBHI piece takes a minimum of 12 hours to make. Twelve hours of cutting, layering, stitching and finishing by hand, with precision and without shortcuts.

When you buy an IBHI piece, you are not just buying decor. You are supporting a system built to give Indian craft the structure it deserves and the women behind it the recognition they have earned.
