Kolam Mango Leaf Toran | Reversible Embroidered Festive Toran
Bring the auspicious beauty of traditional mango leaves to your entrance with IBHI’s Kolam Mango Leaf Toran.
Thoughtfully handcrafted using fabric, embroidery, sacred Mauli thread and signature IBHI embellishments, this reusable toran combines the cultural significance of mango leaves with the timeless artistry of South Indian Kolam designs.
Perfect for festivals, poojas, weddings, housewarming ceremonies and everyday doorway décor, it offers a meaningful alternative to fresh mango leaves while retaining their traditional appearance and symbolism.
Handcrafted on a Sacred Kalawa and Mauli Braid
The toran is constructed on a braided base made using Kalawa or Mauli, the sacred red Hindu thread traditionally associated with blessings, protection and auspicious beginnings.
The braided thread securely holds each mango leaf while adding a rich, traditional detail to the overall design.
Realistic Fabric Mango Leaves
Each mango leaf is individually crafted using dark green fabric.
To recreate the natural appearance of a real mango leaf, the veins are carefully represented through embroidery. This detailing gives every leaf dimension, texture and a more lifelike finish.
Each leaf is topped with:
- IBHI’s signature glass bead
- Solid dull golden spherical bead
- Detailed embroidered leaf veins
- Reversible embroidered motifs
Two-Sided Reversible Design
The Kolam Mango Leaf Toran is designed to be used from both sides, allowing you to create two distinct festive looks with a single handcrafted piece.
Side One: Kolam-Inspired Embroidery
The front side features motifs inspired by Kolam, a traditional South Indian rangoli art created using geometric and symbolic patterns, commonly drawn at the entrance of homes.
The Kolam motifs are embroidered using pure white thread to represent the traditional rice flour used to create authentic Kolam designs.
This side brings together the cultural beauty of South Indian entrances with the auspicious symbolism of mango leaves.
Side Two: Lotus and Kumkum-Chandan Motifs
The reverse side features embroidered lotus motifs along with traditional kumkum and chandan bindu details.
The lotus represents purity, prosperity and spiritual growth, while the kumkum and chandan bindu add a sacred and ceremonial character to the design.
Simply reverse the toran whenever you want to change the appearance of your entrance or festive setup.
