Kanchan Jaal (कंचन जाल) – The Golden Mesh of Tradition and Craft

Kanchan Jaal is where traditional artistry meets thoughtful functionality. Handcrafted with care at IBHI, this versatile piece is designed to be both beautiful and purposeful. It serves as a diya holder, a coaster, or even as a charming wall hanging, complete with a silk thread loop for easy display.

The base of this handcrafted pallet is 4 inches in diameter, while the total outer diameter, including the beadwork, measures 6 inches. On one side, it features a lush green silk fabric topped with a delicately laser-cut jaal pattern, hand-painted in radiant gold. This intricate design gives the piece its name, "Kanchan," which means gold, reflecting the richness of Indian tradition.

Flip it over, and you’ll find our signature Navratna Patola print in shades of green, bringing a burst of festive charm. The entire border is surrounded by detailed beadwork. The first layer includes wooden tyre-shaped beads wrapped with glass beads. The second layer bursts outward with miniature dull golden beads, adding texture and visual appeal.

Every Kanchan Jaal piece is handmade, celebrating Indian heritage in a contemporary form. It is an ideal gift for those seeking Indian-inspired artistry for the home. Whether adorning a table or a wall, this piece brings elegance, warmth, and culture into any space.

This handmade piece is a perfect blend of traditional Indian decor and modern functionality. Whether you are looking for a golden mesh pallet, a handcrafted diya holder, or an Indian wall hanging, Kanchan Jaal fits beautifully into your space. Made with green silk fabric and a hand-painted jaali design, it doubles as a green silk coaster or festive return gift. The detailed Patola print on one side adds heritage charm, making it a go-to choice for those seeking traditional Indian crafts and heritage home decor. IBHI's handmade gifts like this double-sided coaster reflect the richness of our culture. Ideal for pooja room decor, festival gifting, or simply as a statement piece in your living space.

In 2021, Pooja Dave was 22 years old when she noticed something most people walk past without a second thought. India’s handicraft industry had skilled hands, beautiful work and genuine value, but very little structure.

She decided to change that through a business. IBHI brought together India’s regional textile traditions like Banarasi, Patola and Silk with the handcraft skills of women who had never had a formal livelihood.

Today, 355 women across Kadi, Kalyanpura and Sanand work with IBHI. They are skilled artisans with a craft, a workplace and an income.

Every IBHI piece takes a minimum of 12 hours to make. Twelve hours of cutting, layering, stitching and finishing by hand, with precision and without shortcuts.

When you buy an IBHI piece, you are not just buying decor. You are supporting a system built to give Indian craft the structure it deserves and the women behind it the recognition they have earned.
