DETAILS IN DETAIL: this rangoli is a versatile platter with a solid base of 10 inches diameter, covered in two different heritage prints- Bandhej & Pichwai. This means you can use this rangoli on both sides in multiple ways. The rangoli is tasseled with 30 wooden base tyre-shaped spheres which are wrapped with yellowish gold cylindrical acrylic beads. Each embellished bead has a bunch of 85 matt finish dull-golden beads of 5mm diameter. Including all the details of the tassels, total diameter of the rangoli is 13 inches. Each rangoli has a small loop made using silk chandan thread, which is small enough to not be visible but strong enough to hold the entire rangoli when hung on a wall as decor. Flat on a surface or suspended on a wall, this rangoli is ultra versatile.

ABOUT THE PRINTS: Our rangoli has no backside, only an otherside- which is equally beautiful! The rangoli has a super dark violet base fabric, which might appear black sometimes, but be assured it is not. It has a geometric ornamentation of lotus print digitally printed using a single hue- honey mustard color. Each lotus is made using 56 bandhani dots.  Non-gujjus and gujjus mistakenly address Patola as Bandhani, which pushed us to print our Bandhej collection! Bandhej by IBHI is here to vocalise this gujju tie-dye textile decorated by plucking the cloth with the fingernails into many tiny bindings that form a figurative design.

The otherside of the rangoli has a radiant maroon tone multi colour navratna patoa fabric from our Radiant Patola by IBHI collection. Patolas are generally represented by abstract designs and geometric patterns. Elephants, human figures, kalash, flowers, shikhar, paan and parrots as well as designs inspired by the architecture of Gujarat are popular. We have turned one of the most precious and expensive weave of India into a digital format, with the sole purpose to propel its essence to the world. While our digital prints very closely resemble to original weaves, we must say our designers did a great job digitising it but we don't intend to sell it in the name of "original weave"

PACKAGING: Just how we make this IBHI with love, we pack them with love ultra pro max! We cut silk fabric and protective packaging material into a six petal flower and close it into a bundle using tasseled silk thread.

TEAM IBHI'S MESSAGE FOR YOU: What we have mentioned in here in words is simply 9% of how much we think when we design a UTILITY+DESIGN product at IBHI, we visualize and soak in more than what we can express. We hope this IBHI is able to justify the effort and skill of those 300+ women artists who have collectively made this handcrafted beauty.

In 2021, Pooja Dave was 22 years old when she noticed something most people walk past without a second thought. India’s handicraft industry had skilled hands, beautiful work and genuine value, but very little structure.

She decided to change that through a business. IBHI brought together India’s regional textile traditions like Banarasi, Patola and Silk with the handcraft skills of women who had never had a formal livelihood.

Today, 355 women across Kadi, Kalyanpura and Sanand work with IBHI. They are skilled artisans with a craft, a workplace and an income.

Every IBHI piece takes a minimum of 12 hours to make. Twelve hours of cutting, layering, stitching and finishing by hand, with precision and without shortcuts.

When you buy an IBHI piece, you are not just buying decor. You are supporting a system built to give Indian craft the structure it deserves and the women behind it the recognition they have earned.
